Plans to develop a 153-unit building with retail next to Little Caesars Arena were announced by Olympia Development in 2017 as part of its large-scale plans for the District Detroit "neighborhoods" surrounding LCA, which came with nearly $400 million in taxpayer subsidies. (Olympia has reportedly invested $1.4 billion in the District.) In 2018, Olympia changed course and said it planned to build a $48 million office and retail development instead. Construction was initially scheduled to begin in 2017. As of 2021, some work has taken place on the site.
