Acquiring eight parcels at the intersection of Grand River & 14th Street, Oakland-based Designing Justice + Designing Spaces plans to create a campus as an extension of the LOVE Building development. The projected development cost totals $41 million and is proposed to include two three-story buildings and open space. They plan to complete phase one of development by 2024 and have led community engagement since purchasing the parcels in 2021. The campus will feature universal design and hopes to address mass incarceration with their development.
