Food company EW Grobbel Sons, Inc. is planning to use 55 parcels north of Eastern Market at Alexandrine and Dequindre to build a new cold storage facility totaling 140,000 square feet. The cost of the first phase is $20 million with the second phase costing $13 million. In 2021, the project was approved for $3.28 million in brownfield remediation tax incentives, $1 million in state grants and was seeking a 12-year Industrial Facilities Exemption Tax Abatement valued at $5.6 million.
