Full Circle Communities, Southwest Counseling Solutions and Alternatives For Girls are building new affordable apartments in Old Redford at West Grand River and Burt Road, as well as a 3,500 square foot childcare center that will be open to the community. The project will feature 45 100% affordable apartments at 30-50% Area Median Income. Estimated project costs are $14.8 million; developers received a $1.45 million Low-Income Housing Tax Credit award, the state of Michigan announced in 2021. Twenty-five of the units will provide permanent support housing. In 2021, the projected opening was 2023.
